I Choose Worship?

Last Week I had the opportunity to head off for a few days to the west coast with Marlo for a conference called Catalyst. It’s a conference designed for young leaders and focuses on becoming better leaders in ministry and life. There were great speakers, great music and a great atmosphere.
One of the minor things that stuck out to me, was a sticker that was being handed out. Now, I’m not one for handouts or stickers but this one caught my attention. It simply stated “I Choose Worship.” I have heard that line before but as I thought about that point more and more and the conference continued, I realized that in so many aspects of our lives we choose to worship God or not too. Now this stickers original intention of course was musical. However, we need to realize that God calls us to take up our cross daily and follow Him (Luke 9:23). What if our lives became acts of worship like scripture says (Romans 12:1–2). Maybe if our life seems chaotic and broken it isn’t because God isn’t present with us, rather maybe it’s because we aren’t present with Him. What if our business wasn’t separated from our acts of worship to God? What if Worship was more than Sunday Morning? What if every morning we woke up expecting God to move in our lives and change us to become more like Him?
It really does bother me, that sometimes my worship can start at 10am on Sunday morning and end at 12pm that same day. But it doesn’t have to be that way. What if we chose worship over luxury? worship over calendar? worship over T.V? worship over PS3? What if we continually looked at life as worship to God. What if we looked at raising our kids, like worship to God? What if we looked at our current financial situation, with worship to God? I will leave you with this question.
What does your worship to God look like?
Have a great Week!
