Our Story
In 2003, a Christian businessman came to Pastor Horst Doberstein and said he would donate land in a new development in Beaumont, Alberta, if a church were to be established. With that offer, Pastor Doberstein approached the AB/NWT Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada district, as well as a number of churches in the Edmonton region, to participate in support of this church plant endeavor. Over the next three years a steering committee served to establish this vision.
Millwoods Pentecostal Assembly and Southside Pentecostal Assembly (both of Edmonton, Alberta), along with individuals, became significant partners in giving toward the capital expense of the building. These two congregations also released people to join this mission. Numerous other churches also participated in various ways.
Pastor Marlo and Miriam Jenkins were invited to give pastoral leadership to this new church body along with Horst & Elvine Doberstein, who volunteered their time. Pastor Ryan & Ashley also joined the pastoral leadership team in a volunteer capacity to lead the youth ministry. On February 1, 2007 Ryan joined the pastoral staff on a full-time basis.
With the help of God, as well as the prayer, hard work and support of many people, Eaglemont Christian Church in Beaumont was born. The first Sunday morning gathering took place on October 29, 2006. We thank God for His faithfulness!
We have seen God bring together a group of genuine Christ-followers who want to make a positive difference in their neighborhood and in their world. The possibilities are endless… let’s allow God continue to write this story!
