Joel Derdall: Discipleship Pastor
Joel grew up as a pastor’s kid and has lived all over western Canada. His wife, Kerry, is a born and raised Edmontonian. They were married in August 2010.
Joel graduated with a Bachelor in Biblical Studies from the Full Gospel Bible College in 2004. In May 2013, Joel graduated from Providence University with a Masters of Arts in Counseling. Joel has served as an Intern Pastor at the High River Full Gospel Church (2003–2004), Youth/Associate Pastor at Falconridge Full Gospel Tabernacle in Calgary (2004–2006), Associate Pastor/Youth Pastor at High River Full Gospel Church (2007–2010), and Pastor of Church Ministries/Student Ministries at The Park Pentecostal Church in Sherwood Park (2011–2013 – part time while completing his masters).
Kerry graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Education from Concordia University College in Edmonton and has worked as a grade 5 teacher with the Edmonton Public School System. She loves photography, scrapbooking, hiking in the mountains, and cooking.
They excitedly welcomed their son, Judah, to their family in April 2015.
Joel is a big sports fan and is always ready to cheer on his Calgary Flames and Stampeders (even when he is surrounded by Eskimo and Oiler fans!). He also loves music, games and spending quality time with people, specifically his wife.
Most importantly, Joel and Kerry are passionately in love with Jesus and want to see others come to know His love and grace. They value community, authenticity, and look forward joining the ECC family in your faith journey.
