Prayer Opportunities
2026 Prayer & Fast Gatherings: January 11 – 13, 2026.
Every year in Eaglemont’s 19-year history, it’s been our good pattern to start the year off with a focus on prayer and fasting. There’s nothing that is more important that we could do together as a church family than to spend time in prayer, seeking God’s will and direction for our individual lives, for our church and for our world. Please put these dates/times in your calendar now and plan to engage:
Sunday, January 11 @ 4 PM – Pastor Brennan will be leading in sung worship & a time of ‘lingering prayer’, along with praying together for various needs in our personal lives.
Monday, January 12 @ 6:30 PM – This will be a time of prayer focused on praying for people to come to know Jesus personally. We’ll pray for family members, friends, people in our community and in our world. We’ll pray for people we know personally and people who simply cross paths with us in our daily life. This will be a powerful time of compassionate agreement prayer. We will also lift the global workers and ministries that, as a church, we support monthly.
Tuesday, January 13 @ 6:30 PM – Pastor Marlo will lead a ‘prayer walk’ throughout the church building. We’ll be praying for the various ministries and events that will take place, in the coming year, inside this church facility. Parents, feel free to bring your children – their ‘energy’ is a welcome thing in this ‘moving’ time of prayer around our church building.
Fasting: Let’s give up some physical food and replace the time we’d be eating with the spiritual nourishment of spending time in prayer and God’s word. Here are a couple opportunities for you to spend time in prayer and in God’s word (in the church auditorium) over the supper hour – Monday & Tuesday (January 12 & 13) from 5:30 - 6:30 PM.
Pray about how God might want you to fast during these days of prayer focus. Read this good article (‘What Is Biblical Fasting, and Does It Work?’) for some good teaching about this spiritual discipline of fasting.
As a group of Christ-followers, there’s nothing more important we can be doing than to invest time in prayer together. About the early church, Acts 1:14 says, “They all joined together constantly in prayer…” They knew the importance of seeking God’s heart and direction and asking for His guidance, wisdom, and divine intervention for every aspect of their lives. We must do the same.
